Purpose: The roll of the Usher is that of doorkeeper. The Usher, like the Greeter, sets the mood of the people as they enter the house of the Lord. They are courteous and kind and ensure orderly conduct in the house of the Lord. They give a smile and a warm welcome to brighten each ones day.
Duties: The Ushers duties consist of but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare the sanctuary for the entrance of the congregation and guest.
- Hand out programs and literature to all as they arrive.
- Direct the seating of all congregants.
- Provide special comfort as required.
- Provide special assistance to handicapped worshipers as needed.
The Usher ministry is constantly looking of new members for the team. If you are a member and would like to be an Usher, come to our meeting; which is held Tuesday after the third Sunday of each month and talk to the president or vice presidents. We will see you there.
