Men’s Day 2013 Registration ($40.00) continues today immediately following Worship in the Atrium of the Banquet & Conference Center. Choir Rehearsals (Ushers will practice 6:30pm, Tuesday, June 18th) will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of this week at 6:30PM in the MAIN SANCTUARY. Men’s Day Prayer Breakfast, with Motivational Speaker Brandon Davis, will be held 9:00AM, at the Banquet & Conference Center, this Saturday June 22nd. Men’s Day Celebration will be held Sunday, June 23rd, at 8:00AM and 11:30AM. This year’s Speaker is Reverend Doctor Sam Davis, Pastor of the Beulah Grove Baptist Church, Augusta, GA.
The Brotherhood is accepting applications for the Thomas Jackson Memorial Scholarship for young men of Brookland graduating from High School this year, and with plans to attend college this fall. You may register at the Men's Day Registration Table in the Banquet and Conference Center after Worship, or contact H.S. Tate at 803-360-3856. The deadline for applying is Tuesday, June 18!!
Children's Worship will hold a "Fitness Day" in the gym of the Health & Wellness Center, next Sunday, June 23rd (Men's Day!), during both Worship Services, for children ages 5 to 11. Parents, please dress children comfortably for exercise and physical activities.
The Corporation for Economic Opportunity is pleased to announce that the Community Farmers Market will begin its 5th (next) season, with a special GRANDE OPENING TODAY, from10:00AM until 4:00PM. Fresh, healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables, featuring produce from black farmers, will be available after each Worship Service in the gravel lot across from the Sanctuary. Thereafter, the market will resume its regular Friday afternoon schedule from 2:00PM until 7:00PM.
The Brookland Baptist College Ministry will host a 3-Day 2-Night trip to Amazing Atlanta, GA, Friday thru Sunday, June 28th-30th, for all teenagers, college students, young adults, and all persons ages 14 and up. REPORT CARDS: Please submit report cards by Tuesday, June 18th, and be recognized on Sunday, June 30th, at both Worship Services. Second semester (3rd & 4th Q) grades will be reviewed. Students with an A in each subject will be listed on the Pastor’s Honor Roll and students with an A to B AVERAGE will be listed on the Deacons’ Honor Roll. Parents, please record your name and telephone number on the back of the card.
Project Young Athlete, sponsored by The Brookland Foundation’s Health & Wellness Program, will offer free sports physicals to middle school students participating in school-based or community team sporting activities. Interested young athletes should stop by the Brookland Foundation to: 1) complete an information sheet, 2) pick-up a voucher, and 3) select a Doctors Care location in the Midlands to complete the sports physical.
Join the CBJS for their 35th Choir Anniversary Weekend Celebration, Friday, July 12th thru Sunday, July 14th. Events include an Anniversary Drop In, Reunion Choir Rehearsal, Reunion Banquet, Reunion Worship Service, concluding with the 35th Anniversary Reunion Concert.
