Prayer
Dear Lord, we give thanks for the life of our loved one who has been taken from us. We ask now for the presence of your Holy Spirit to comfort us. Lord, we need you at this hour, and humbly ask that you give us strength and increase our faith.
Lord, we know that your word says that you will “never leave us nor forsake us” (Hebrews 13:5). So, please grant us your presence and assist us as we prepare for the Homegoing service of our loved one.
In your precious name we pray, Amen.
Scriptures of Comfort
JOHN 14:1-3 NKJ
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
2 CORINTHIANS 5:1,6,8 NKJ
For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
ISAIAH 51:12 NKJ
"I, even I, am He who comforts you….”
ISAIAH 40:28,29,31 KJ
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faint not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
